Hi, my name’s Brad and I’m a first aid junkie.
I get a kick out of making people feel better. I like dishing out Oxygen to those that need it. I like tying people up in elevation slings. I even like stemming blood flow using bandages where necessary.
No, this isn’t the first aid equivalent of an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, but I do feel better for confessing my “sins”. Because if I enjoy it this much, other people must do as well, right?
Tempted? Come and see what the fuss is about. Become an event first aid volunteer. Like me, you might get a kick out of doing first aid. You might also like some of the events we get to see when we’re not treating people, from music festivals such as WOMAD through to firework shows at the local village green.
Not only that, but you’d be getting tip-top, up-to-date first aid skills to use in all walks of life, from home to the commute to work, you never know where you might be able to make a difference.
Go on, give it a go. You might like it!

I agree!
It’s an amazing feeling when you can make a difference for someone and help them.
Also, there’s nothing worse than seeing someone you care about hurt and not being able to do anything to help. If only for this reason I would always recommend people learn basic first aid.

Hi Ben,
A fellow addict! Welcome to the club.
You’re absolutely right about not being to help your loved ones – that’s one of the prime reasons why I learned first aid in the first place, too.
