Red Cross parcels: the ultimate last minute gift!

What’s on your festive wish-list? Syringes? A safe water system? Purification tablets, perhaps? Probably not.

But these not-so-luxury items would no doubt be on the wish-lists of many vulnerable people around the world. And, unlike the latest video games, simple things like these can make the difference between life and death. Talk about must-have gifts.

If you still have present shopping to do, can’t face the last-minute crowds or simply want to make a small gesture, but a big difference to people struggling around the world, send a Red Cross parcel.

It’s a virtual gift for every budget that you can choose online in minutes and send directly to a friend or family member. You’ll be helping us to raise vital funds for those in need and giving the gift of hope to people who need it the most.

Of course, there are many other ways you can support us over the festive period and beyond. Many of us are feeling the pinch this year but simply by recycling, you can help us raise vital funds for our work. Did you know there are an estimated 60 – 90 million mobile phones languishing in drawers round the UK.

Your old mobile phone, for example, even damaged, is worth up to £30 to us, and costs you nothing…simply log on to our recycling website and request a freepost envelope.

This is my last post of the year. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my blog. Here’s to a better, brighter 2010 for you and the many vulnerable people we help round the world.
