Tweeting from Zimbabwe

Ina Bluemel

Last week I told you a bit about our Twitter stream and how we’re using it to help the public understand what goes on behind the scenes at Red Cross projects.

This week I wanted to let you know about our latest ‘tweature’ (okay, I told my manager I wouldn’t use it, but I can’t help myself).

Ina Bluemel is a hygiene promotion officer working in Zimbabwe to make sure people know how to prevent the spread of cholera. She’s using Twitter to keep us up to date about the work she’s doing there.

She’s working with Zimbabwe Red Cross volunteers to develop educational resources so young people learn how to protect themselves from cholera.

The Red Cross has been helping people affected by the cholera crisis in Zimbabwe and the surrounding region since the beginning of the epidemic last year. Zimbabwe Red Cross volunteers and professionals from around the world have been giving out sanitation supplies, educating the public about easy ways to prevent cholera’s spread, and distributing relief items.

Until 24 April, you can read Ina’s tweets about the work she’s doing. If you follow us, why not let your friends know about our Twitter stream (using @BritishRedCross, so we know you’re talking about us)?
