Skin camouflage has been knocking about for more than thirty years, helping people with disfiguring skin conditions such as rosacea, vitiligo, port wine stains and birth marks regain their confidence and self-esteem. We’ve been busy in our patch working on a project to help people with scars following self-harm, domestic abuse, violent attack and intravenous drug use, embedding the service in the premises of partner organisations that can provide the practical and emotional support required.
We were recently on The Hour, a magazine show on STV, and the clip is now online for all to see. Look mum; I’m on the telly! Or I would have been if I hadn’t been on holiday when they filmed it and suckered in a couple of staff and volunteers and now I owe them a massive favour!
The pilot launches its first clinic on 19 September. People living in Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and Lanarkshire can self-refer by contacting Helen Irvine on 0141 891 4000 or hirvine@redcross.org.uk.
And tell her she looked nice on the telly.
